Privacy Policy
Last updated June 11, 2026
Just Do Things (“we,” “us”) runs a twice-monthly newsletter, the Proof of Work app at app.justdothings.io, and occasional invite-only dinners. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection small on purpose.
Information we collect
- Newsletter email. When you subscribe, we collect your email address (and any acquisition source, like the page you subscribed from). Subscriptions are managed by our email provider, beehiiv.
- Dinner requests. If you request a dinner invite, we collect what you submit in the form: your name, email, optional links, what you’re building, your ask and offer, anything you’ve shipped, and your city.
- Proof of Work account. If you create an account, we store your email and the profile and project content you add (name, one-liner, photo, links, goals, milestones, and posts).
- Usage analytics. We record privacy-light, first-party events — page views, clicks, and which acquisition source brought you — tied to an anonymous session identifier, not your name. We also use Vercel Analytics for aggregate traffic measurement.
How we use it
- To send you the newsletter and let you manage your subscription.
- To review dinner requests and reply if there's a fit.
- To run your Proof of Work account and show your profile and posts.
- To understand, in aggregate, what's working on the site so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Service providers
We share data only with the providers that help us operate, each acting on our behalf:
- beehiiv — newsletter delivery and subscription management.
- Supabase — database and authentication for accounts, dinner requests, and analytics.
- Vercel — hosting and aggregate analytics.
- Resend — delivery of account sign-in emails.
- Google — optional “Continue with Google” sign-in.
Cookies
When you sign in to the Proof of Work app, we set first-party cookies to keep you signed in. Our analytics rely on a first-party session identifier rather than third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe any time from the link in any issue or at justdothings.io/unsubscribe.
- Access or delete your data — email us at jia@jiaminghuang.com and we’ll handle it.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as you’re subscribed or hold an account, and only as long afterward as we need it for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations. When you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, we remove or anonymize your data accordingly.
Children
Just Do Things is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here.
